Are your products Vegan?
I have always preferred to use vegetable based ingredients, along with natural Vitamin E (not the synthetic so often substituted) and gentle colorants. The only 'non veggie' ingredient that I use is sun-bleached beeswax. There are vegetable substitutes for beeswax, but after consultation with beekeepers, I've continued to use this naturally derived product. Beeswax is used in my lipbalm and my lotion bars, only.
My order did not arrive, or something was forgotten/broken, what happens now?
Your first stop is to let me know. People are human and delivery services (such as the US Post Office) can have accidents. Since each situation is different, please write me, providing all information and we'll get involved to solve your problem. In some cases, you will be required to return the damaged item to us before replacement can happen. Return shipping is your responsibility. Keep in mind that shipping is never refundable.
We're happy to report that far less than 1% of any shipment has ever had a quality or shipping issue. But if you do, I want to make you happy.
Why should I pay $4-6 for a bar of soap when I can buy multiples at the local megastore?
I am really glad you asked. Very few people are actually aware that the vast majority of cleansers sold at their local megamart are probably more closely related (chemically) to the detergent that washes their clothes, than my gentle skin loving soap. Filled with synthetic foaming agents, these bars can easily overclean skin, stripping away helpful oils (that keep skin moist and supple), leaving behind skin that is dry and flaky.
Real soap, like mine, will remove excess oil, along with grime and dirt. But your skin's delicate balance is respected. How? Glycerin. Glycerin acts as a barrier between the cleansing power of the soap and your skin. Mass produced cleansers (often called 'bath bar' or 'beauty bar', not soap…for a good lawful reason…they aren't soap) usually have no glycerin at all. Glycerin is a valuable byproduct (well, to those mass producers it is…) that can be extracted and sold.
There's also another reason. Over clean your skin and you'll be looking for some lotion. Makes sense, right? Well, they often put glycerin in their lotions. Which makes no sense at all. Glycerin is a water soluble ingredient. In soap, that's great. As it rinses cleanly away. But as an ingredient in a product that is designed to keep water IN, that is not a good thing. One handwashing and you need lotion again.
I guess that's good for those big companies. Because it is a cycle that keeps repeating. Overclean your skin. Reach for some lotion. Wash your hands (or just general life) and you need their lotion again. And on and on. Until you break the cycle. Buy some real soap and see the difference for yourself.
Do you have a minimum order?
Due to shipping costs, it just makes sense to order as much from us at one time, as you can. After all, it only costs you $4.95 per order to ship! But, if you just want to try a few things, that's fine.
Are your candles petroleum or soy based?
I've been pouring candles for over 9 years. I've met a lot of candle lovers and the common link between all of them is that they want great smelling candles at a fair price. That's exactly what I've worked to create. The best smelling candle you've ever burned at a price that won't make you cry.
I do keep up on market trends. And soy wax candles have been growing in popularity for some time. Many people like soy because it is a renewable resource. While it doesn't get as much 'press' paraffin wax is also natural. Paraffin wax comes from petroleum, which is the byproduct of eons of decomposing vegetable matter. I'm not opposed to using soy. But I've never found a candle that can fill a room with fragrance like my paraffin blended ones. If I ever develop a soy-based candle that scents as well, I'll introduce them. I always want you to have a choice.
You ship my entire order for only $4.95?
Yes, we do! Having a flat rate shipping is a simple solution to the shipping headache that most online biz has to suffer. Most of our customers will actually pay less shipping under this method than the 'traditional' method of boxing, weighing and charging. Please note that this shipping charge is for RETAIL only and does not apply to wholesale purchases. Wholesale customers will pay applicable shipping minus any discounts or incentives. Please email us if you have any questions!
Each time the Post Office raises rates, shipping expense is always evaluated. Shipping is not a profit center for me, and I really strive to keep my costs down as low as they possibly can be.
Do you offer free samples?
I realize that people love getting freebies, but they are not only costly to produce, but also to ship out. I always put samples into shipped orders, but that's the only way that I can send them out. I am examining a new 'sampler box' that would contain a number of sample and full sized products. If it becomes feasible look for it to be listed for sale. All proceeds from this box wold be redeemable as a discount on a future purchase.
Do you wholesale?
I do! Wholesale is handled a bit differently than retail and there are specific rules and requirements. If interested in selling my products at your retail brick and mortar (no flea markets or temporary venues will be allowed, sorry) drop me an email and we'll get talking! You can sell any grouping of my products. Minimum order and minimum quantities will apply. |
