Where I muse about just about everything...
From the weather in Texas, to my kids, pets, travel and friendships. Basically, about life. And oh yeah, about my Coquette Bath & Home⢠products, too.
Forgive me, those of you who remember the incredible talent of Gilda Radner...for taking part of her famous grouse....but it IS always something. Like right now, I have about 4 big 'house' jobs to do. I need to put down new baseboard...from work done about 3 years ago. Yep. Still haven't done it all. Most of it? Nope. Can't even say that. About 1/3? Probably pretty accurate. So that's one BIG job that needs work. I have the baseboard. I bought it all about 3 months ago, painted it and it is waiting for me...so is that going to be the job for the weekend? Well, there's also the metal deck table & chairs. I notice rust on a few of them...so that means a new coat of paint. Keep them black? Or maybe spray them a different color? Decisions, decisions... Then, there's the deck itself...we had a dog before who just did a number on the wood...and the wood on two rails also needs to be replaced. But the deck floor needs a good coating of solid stain and THAT has to be done after the furniture is repainted...cause with a sloping back yard, the only place I can paint the furniture is on the deck, itself. I have a bit of trim to put down...at the thresholds of where the laminate moves to the tile. And, that's just for the house. I also have an entire new line of lipbalm to batch, label and get ready for photos. Same great recipe that you've already come to love but in a new packaging that I hope will become a unisex favorite. Because, let's be honest here, I do love to use flower motifs, and not every dude is down with that. On top of that new kitty, Louie, needs to go for some shots. And in a little bit I'm going to take him to the rescue folks where we got him for those. Not a bad trip, but since I'll have him with me, I won't be able to go into the cool stores around the pet store where the rescue folk set up. That's okay. I really do not need to buy more nailpolish. Because, after a full year of wearing a gel french manicure, I scraped it all off last night and painted my nails. First attempt was a vivid turquoise with glitter. Ummm, not so much. A bit too 'teen' for me, I think. At least on my hands. Think my toes may be that color VERY soon. So this morning, I did them again...yep. The neutral base with the pink glitter? Gloriously pretty. But you can be the judge of that! (you can also clearly tell that I'm somewhat of a novice at this by the glitter on the cuticle...LOL...but a lot cheaper than $35 per time at the salon!). So I'm digging it at present. So, like I said at the beginning, it is always something. One thing or another...but that's good I guess. Keeps us motivated and trying something new. I'll start one of the projects I've mentioned (probably the furniture) this weekend. Next weekend, I'll go to see my mom near Houston. So won't get to anything else soon. But I will.
Eventually.
