Where I muse about just about everything...
From the weather in Texas, to my kids, pets, travel and friendships. Basically, about life. And oh yeah, about my Coquette Bath & Home™ products, too.
Well, it has been a weird spring in north Texas. We had a record low or two, and today it is bright sunshine with just a few of those puffy white things in the sky.
My irises have bloomed and gone back to sleep until next year. My roses are budding like mad. The bluebonnets have come and gone on the Texas highways (winecups and gallaridia are there now--bright yellow and soft pink) but...there's still spring about.
Actually, in my shop, spring is every day of the year. Even when it is blowing white stuff outside (and not the puffy soft kind in a bright blue sky, either) or when it is in the blistering heat of a Texas summer.
Scent, after all, has the ability to transport us back in time. To when lives were simpler. To when times seemed to move slower. Spring is like that. Well, in most of the country. Normally, in Texas, we about about 1.45 days of it...
Although, as I've already said, this year has been a bit more generous. But when you're hankering for something lovely, fragrance is the key. Personal scent, like that of my roll on perfumes (pictured above) or maybe a jar candle (pictured below).
That just looks soft and fresh, doesn't it? Plumeria is one of my absolute favorite fragrances. The soft floral scent always livens my mood. With the right scent, springtime, or whatever your favorite time of year, is only a sniff or three away. Yeah, I know, you can't absolutely forget the 110F in the shade or the 3' of bitter cold white stuff outside your window. But for a moment, with a deep breath, you can almost forget...and even a short mental vacation is something very good.
Enjoy the aroma!
